Bank Routing Number Validation

ABA RTN number validation

ABA RTN numbers are used to identify banks in the USA. When you want to send money by wire, you will need the account number where you need to send the money and you will need the RTN number to identify the receiver's bank.

Frequently asked questions

  1. How does the validation works?

We check the length of the routing number. ABA numbers have nine digits, so we verify if there are only digits. After that, we calculate the checksum of the first eight digits. If the nine-digit is equal to the result of the checksum, the routing number is valid.

  2. What means ABA RTN?

ABA stands for American Bankers Association and RTN stands for Routing Transit Number. ABA and RTN are the same.
